Eat well and exercise often, maintain good health. Get a physical checkup annually.
Be a proactive about your health and well being. Know your normal and check yourself by using our self exam methods regularly. If something doesn’t seem right for 2 weeks straight, see a doctor to get checked. Be persistent, if the problem doesn’t go away, don’t just learn to ignore it!
Although it’s easy to think you won’t get it, don’t disregard cancer as a possible cause to your symptoms- nobody is immune to cancer.
Don’t smoke and try to avoid spending time in a smoking environment, not only can smoking increase your chances of getting cancer, it can cause you to look older sooner. Click to see the negative effects of smoking in aging.
Love to lay by the pool or hang out on the beach? Keep in mind there is no such thing as a “healthy” glow; protect your skin from harmful UV rays to prevent skin cancer and early aging. Wear sun block or skin covering clothing, hats, and sunglasses when out in the sun, especially between 11am and 4pm when the sun is at its strongest and most dangerous!
Avoid tanning beds and sun lamps, it may look good now, but it will look much worse than your natural skin with peels, wrinkles, or cancer scars in the future.
Has anyone closely related to you had cancer? If so, you’re at a higher risk. Be sure to know your family history and get checked by a doctor often.

Eating foods that have been found to be “anti-angiogenesis” foods may aid in cutting off cancer cells from having a blood supply. While this is not true for all cancers, the foods on this list have been found to be full of good nutrients and antioxidants anyway, so try adding these foods to your daily diet.
Try to avoid eating foods with a lot of artificial sweetener, food coloring, or preservatives/ pesticides, and stick to organic when possible. Review the guide on the right when choosing fruits and veggies at the supermarket to ensure you choose those with the least preservatives.
