My name is Jill Conant and I am 37 years old. I recently had an experience which I thought would be very appropriate to share on this website. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a small mole on my chest which I had never seen before. It didn't really alarm me, but at the same time, I knew it was nothing I should ignore. I called my dermatologist and scheduled an appointment for later that week. Upon my examination, I was given both good and bad news. The good news was that the mole which brought me into the office was absolutely fine. The bad news was that I had developed pre-cancerous cells on my face. I was completely surprised to hear this because I hadn't even noticed any changes on the skin of my face. Thankfully, my dermatologist was able to remove the cells right there in her office that day. I feel so fortunate that I took the time to get myself checked out. My message to everyone reading this story is never ignore ANY abnormal changes in your body because it may lead to facts about other unexpected changes in your body. You must be your own advocate for your own body! Please remember to "Check Yourself."
